During this uncertain time the safety and wellbeing of our gymnasts is paramount. As a club we are following all guidelines and policies put in place by our governing body to ensure our gym is as safe as possible for our members.
We have compiled all important information, new guidelines, and procedures below.
Arrival
- Gymnasts should arrive 10 minutes prior to their class start time.
- On arrival gymnasts will line up outside our main entrance on the
socially distanced markers. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult (max.1 adult at both drop off and pick up).
- There will be a member of staff at the front door who will be responsible for signing in each gymnast.
- After the gymnast has been signed in, their accompanying adult
should take any additional clothing from the gymnast and follow the one-way system marked on our pathway and return to the car park.
- Gymnasts and accompanying adult should wear a face mask on arrival.
- On entry into the building gymnasts will sanitise their hands at the allocated sanitising station and follow the arrows marked on the floor, making their way to the MAG gym.
Class Guidance
- The gymnasts will line up socially distanced in front of the MAG area.
- One by one the gymnasts will place their belongings in the allocated area.
- The gym will be separated into various zones and subzones (image below). Each gymnast will train with the same coach and teammates and have their own ‘gym bubble’.
- Gymnasts will be directed to a zone to warm up in their ‘gym bubble’.
- Any gymnasts aged 12 and over will be required to social distance at all times.
- Coaches will be social distancing from all participants regardless of age.
- Gymnasts will be asked to sanitise their hands when changing zones and also after using the toilet.
- All equipment will be cleaned when groups change zones and before and after each class.
- Gymnasts will train all gymnastic skills independently with verbal support and instruction from their coach. Coaches will not be permitted to support/handle.
Exit
- Gymnasts will exit the building from the fire exit in the main hall – this ensures we can operate a one-way system.
- Parents/carers should wait at the pick up area outside the clearly
- We ask parents/carers to make themselves clearly visible to allow our coaches to sign gymnasts out on their behalf.
- As per drop off we ask that only one parent/carer collects gymnasts to avoid congestion.
- Parents/carers should socially distance at all times and wear a face mask.
Gymnasts will reapply their face mask and sanitise their hands on exit
Upstairs Viewing and Seating Area
On reopening we will be limited to how many people can enter the facility, therefore entry to all areas of the gym and upstairs viewing and seating area will be closed to all parents/guardians. The club will regularly review this and when safe to do so we will reopen the area.
Gymnast Attire and Accessories
- Arrive ready for training with minimal excess clothing
- Face mask to be worn on arrival and exit
- Personal hand sanitiser compulsory
- Individual chalk box
- Individual water spray or additional training aids e.g. sandpaper,
- scrubber, syrup etc.Individual drink bottle clearly labelled with name.
- Any lost property not claimed within 48 hours will be disposed of

- On entry into the building gymnasts and their accompanying adult will sanitise their hands at the allocated sanitising station and follow the arrows marked on the floor, making their way to the preschool gym
Class Guidance
- On entry into the preschool gym, the gymnast and their accompanying adult should make their way to the furthest available coloured spot where they will place the gymnast’s belongings.
- Once removing the gymnast’s shoes, socks and additional clothing, the gymnast should make their way to a coloured spot in the warmup area.
- After the gymnast is on their spot, their accompanying adult should exit the preschool gym and follow our one-way system marked on our pathway and return to the car park.
- All 3-5 years must take part in their class unaccompanied.
- Coaches will be social distancing from all participants regardless of age.
- All equipment will be cleaned when groups change zones and before and after each class.
- Gymnasts will complete all stations and gymnastic skills independently with verbal support and instruction from their coach. Coaches will not be permitted to support/handle.
Exit
- At the end of class parents/carers will be permitted to enter the building to collect the gymnasts and their belongings.
- A coach will sign each gymnast out
- Gymnasts and their accompanying adult should sanitise their hands on exit.
- Parents should follow the one-way system marked on our pathway to return to the car park.
- Parents/carers should socially distance at all times and wear a face mask.
